In order to celebrate the 49th World Earth Day (April 22nd), Zibo Municipal Government organized a special public running event named “Draw the Beautiful earth and enjoy the Running” in Xiaofu River Wetland Park to advocate environmental protection among citizens. As a part of the activity, 39 international students from Zibo Vocational Institute were invited to join the running.
Students from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Iran and Cambodia tried hands at painting pictures of the most beautiful earth in their minds. They depicted their dream homes, expressed their deep love for China in their paintings and painted the picture of pandas on white blank T-shirts. Alina, a girl from Russia told the Zibo TV reporter: “Today I had a deeper understanding about the earth and become more concerned about environmental protection.’’
Zibo Vocational Institute has always been trying to provide various chances for international students to integrate into local community activities, making them experience and understand more about Chinese culture.
